Out-of-School Time, Transition to Adulthood High School Program
What is the OST High School Program?
"OST High School" is an Academic Enhancement, and Credit Recovery Program for H.S. Juniors and seniors enrolled in New Day Academy High School, located at 80 Home Street in the Bronx.
Who are Program Participants?
In-School (11th and 12th grade at-risk students)
When is the Program Held?
Participants are scheduled from4pm – 6pm, three days per week.
What do Participants Receive?
Credit Recovery Classes; Life Skills; Academic Enhancement; Job Readiness Training; Counseling and Placement Services which help participants acquire marketable skills. Participants in good standing are Guaranteed Summer Employment.
Special Program Components:
Our In-School component targets 11th and 12th grade (at-Risk) High School students. Emphasis is on achieving a High School Diploma with redemption as needed. The In-School component focuses on reinforcing in-school learning as well as providing students with:
- Academic Enhancement and Preparation for the SAT and Regent Exams, while maintaining a Quality GPA
- Supportive Service and Guidance
- Computer Assisted learning
- College Preparation
- Tutorial Assistance
- Personal & Career Counseling
- Job Readiness Training
- Educational Cultural and Career Related Trips
